🇦🇺 Our story starts in 1981 when we were only teenagers and childhood sweethearts both attending boarding school in a small country town in West Germany
🇩🇪 Unsere Geschichte beginnt 1981, als wir nur Teenager und verliebte Jugendliche waren und beide ein Internat in einer kleinen Stadt auf dem Land in Westdeutschland besuchten
🇦🇺 we attended boarding school from 1981 to 1983 and after our final exams we both went our separate ways not having any contact for 28 years. Organising a school reunion we met again in 2009, fell in love yet again and the rest is history.
🇩🇪 Wir besuchten von 1981 bis 1983 dieses Internat und gingen nach dem Abschluss 28 Jahre, und ohne Kontakt, getrennte Wege. Bei der Organisation eines Klassentreffens trafen wir uns 2009 wieder, verliebten uns erneut und der Rest ist Geschichte.
🇦🇺 we moved in together with Timm coming to Australia to live for 6 months taking time out from a busy work schedule, so we took a chance and it worked. We have been travelling back and forth between Australia and Germany trying to reconcile both lives, family, kids and work commitments. We created a patch work family, having 4 kids between us (all grown up now) and one grandchild.
🇩🇪 Wir sind zusammengezogen, und Timm kam für 6 Monat nach Australien, um hier zu leben und sich eine Auszeit von einem vollen Arbeitsplan zu nehmen, also nutzten wir diese Chance und es funktionierte. Wir sind zwischen Australien und Deutschland hin und her gependelt und haben versucht, beide Leben, Familie, Kinder und berufliche Verpflichtungen unter einen Hut zu bringen.
🇦🇺 We knew the children were on board with our relationship basically from the start, got along amongst themselves and were happy with the development of our relationship and the patchwork family we sort of created with with having 2 kids each plus one grandchild. Timm popped the question and before you know it, we were married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by our children, family and friends.
🇩🇪 Wir wussten, dass unsere Kinder von Anfang an unsere Beziehung akzeptierten, sich untereinander verstanden und zufrieden mit der Entwicklung unserer Beziehung und der Patchwork-Familie waren, die wir mit jeweils 2 Kindern und einem Enkelkind geschaffen hatten. Dann stellte Timm die Frage aller Fragen und bevor man wusste was geschah heirateten wir in einer wunderschönen Zeremonie, umgeben von unseren Kindern, Familie und Freunden.
🇦🇺 now we are at the next stage of our lives. The kids are grown up, working live has come to an end and the autumn season of ones life has begun with travelling around Australia and maybe around the world if we are lucky enough to do so. Life remains exciting and still is full of adventures and the unknown.
🇩🇪 Jetzt sind wir in der nächsten Phase unseres Lebens. Die Kinder sind erwachsen, das Arbeitsleben ist zu Ende und die Herbstsaison des eigenen Lebens hat mit Reisen durch Australien begonnen, und wenn wir das Glück haben auch vielleicht um die ganze Welt. Das Leben bleibt spannend und ist dennoch voller Abenteuer und dem Unbekanntem.
