🇦🇺 Leaving Kalbarri 30th June to Onlsow 4th July –> Full Picture Gallery
4. Stop Hamlin Outback Station. We drove in on a dirt road but well worth it, it was a lovely stay, very clean amenities, friendly staff and the natural sounds were music to our ears. We walked around the man made Lake with an abundance of water birds, well protected within this lovely old sheep farm. Very relaxing stay.

4. Stop in Hamlin Outback Station Wir sind auf einer roten Sandstrasse reingefahren und es war die Sache total wert. Sehr saubere Einrichtungen, freundliches Personal und die natürlichen Geräusche waren Musik in unseren Ohren. Wir gingen um den künstlichen See mit einer Fülle von Wasservögeln herum, der in dieser schönen alten Schaffarm gut geschützt ist. Sehr erholsamer Aufenthalt.
🇦🇺 5. Stop was at Pt Quobba Blowholes just north of Carnarvon. We booked in for 2 nights and funny enough ran into our old neighbour Ken who we had not seen in 13 years. It was great to catch up and what a coincidence. It was a great spot with camping on the coast. One can travel down a sandy track until a sign says to please turn around if you have a bigger vehicle. Great camping and some of the best sunsets. It was cold at night with temperature dropping to single digits but luckily we have a diesel heater to keep us warm.
🇩🇪 5. Stop war bei Pt Quobba Blowholes nördlich von Carnarvon. Wir buchten für 2 Nächte und trafen lustigerweise unseren alten Nachbarn Ken, den wir seit 13 Jahren nicht mehr gesehen hatten. Es war großartig alte Geschichten auszutauschen und neue zu erzählen und was für ein Zufall sich dort zu treffen. Es war ein großartiger Ort mit Camping an der Küste. Man kann einen Sandweg hinunterfahren, bis ein Schild sagt, dass man bitte umkehren sollte, wenn man ein größeres Fahrzeug hat. Tolles Camping und einige der besten Sonnenuntergänge. Nachts war es kalt, die Temperaturen fielen in den einstelligen Bereich, aber zum Glück haben wir eine Dieselheizung, die uns warm hält.
🇦🇺 6. Stop Barradale Rest Area (Yannarie) 3rd July 2022 by now. Barradale Rest Area is located on the North Wesdt Coastal Highway at Yannarie River in Western Australia. Yannarie River is 1,426km north of Perth. Lots of wide open spaces with plenty of room for everyone. You have room to move. It is nicely located off the highway along a dry river bed. Loads of room for all kind of trailers. Although you could hear the Road Trains at night, it was very faint. Unfortunately we missed Bullara Station because it was fully booked but we had to get petrol at Minilya Roadhouse.
🇩🇪 6. Stop an der Raststätte Barradale (Yannarie) an. Mittlerweile ist es der 3. Juli 2022. Die Raststätte Barradale liegt am North West Coastal Highway am Yannarie River in Westaustralien. Der Yannarie River liegt 1.426 km nördlich von Perth. Viele weite Freiflächen mit viel Platz für alle. Man hat Bewegungsspielraum. Es liegt schön abseits des Highways an einem trockenen Flussbett. Viel Platz für alle Arten von Anhängern. Man konnte die Road Trains nur schwach in der Ferne hören, es war sehr leise. Leider haben wir Bullara Station verpasst, da dort alles ausgebucht war und wir mussten am Minilya Roadhouse tanken.
🇦🇺 7. Stop at Ocean View Caravan Park in Onslow. Since the actual Caravan Park was totally full, we were able to get into the Overflow Area of the Park, right on top of the hill, overlooking the ocean. In our view much better then the caravan park which was absolutely crowded. We had a bit of space, although lots of red dust around. We stayed 2 nights and met a lovely couple, Johnny and Sonja M. in their Lotus Caravan. We exchanged online details and we are sure we would have had a blast travelling together but we were going opposite directions and maybe catch up one day in Port Macquarie NSW. We had the same wave length and exchanged funny stories. At Onslow one can fill up their drinking water at the visitor centre in town and the local supermarket is well stocked. Clean little town. We travelled into Old Onslow along the Ashburton River and also did the River Crossing. Old Onslow is a bit disappointing to us although there is a 24 hour Rest Area with a Dump Point but we would not stay there as it is very far away from the actual camp spots along the river. And Old Onslow only has little signs were buildings used to stand before the entire town was actual moved to the current site. We would actually visit again. Oh and we did learn not to use the washing machine off grid as it uses a lot more water then actual mentioned in the manual!!!!! Well, you live and learn.
🇩🇪 7. Stop am Ocean View Caravan Park in Onslow. Da der eigentliche Caravan Park total voll war, konnten wir in den Überlaufbereich des Parks buchen, direkt auf dem Hügel mit Blick auf den Ozean. Aus unserer Sicht viel besser als der absolut überfüllte Caravan Park. Wir hatten ein bisschen Platz, obwohl viel roter Staub herumlag. Wir blieben 2 Nächte und trafen ein nettes Paar, Johnny und Sonja M. in ihrem Lotus Caravan. Wir tauschten online Details aus und wir sind sicher, dass wir eine tolle Zeit gehabt hätten, zusammen zu reisen, aber wir gingen in entgegengesetzte Richtungen und holten uns vielleicht eines Tages in Port Macquarie NSW wieder. Wir hatten die gleiche Wellenlänge und tauschten lustige Geschichten aus. In Onslow kann man sein Trinkwasser im Besucherzentrum im Ort auffüllen und der örtliche Supermarkt ist auch gut gefüllt. Saubere kleine Stadt. Wir fuhren entlang des Ashburton River nach Old Onslow und machten auch die Flussüberquerung. Old Onslow ist für uns etwas enttäuschend, obwohl es einen 24-Stunden-Rastplatz mit einem Dump Point gibt, aber wir würden nicht dort bleiben, da es sehr weit von den eigentlichen Campingplätzen entlang des Flusses entfernt ist. Und Old Onslow hat nur kleine Schilder dort, wo früher Gebäude gestanden haben, bevor die gesamte Stadt tatsächlich an den heutigen Standort verlegt wurde. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Oh, und wir haben gelernt, die Waschmaschine nicht netzunabhängig zu benutzen, da sie viel mehr Wasser verbraucht, als tatsächlich in der Bedienungsanleitung angegeben !!!!! Nun, man lebt und lernt.
